Privacy

This page explains what data Case & Cork collects and what we do with it. Case & Cork is a trading name of Fine Food and Wine Ltd.

Cookies

We use the storage the shop needs to work, Stripe's fraud-prevention cookies at checkout, and Google Analytics only if you accept it in the cookie notice. We use no advertising cookies. See our Cookies policy for detail.

Orders and contact

When you place an order or contact us, we use the details you give us (your name, email, delivery address and what you ordered) to deliver your order and reply to you. Stripe handles payments, so we never see or store your full card details. Our database and the emails we send you are on Microsoft Azure in the UK. We have no customer accounts: you check out as a guest, and your confirmation email has a private link to your order.

How long we keep your details

Orders: six years. HMRC requires us to keep a record of every sale for six years after the end of the accounting year, so we cannot delete an order inside that time.

Everything else: two years from the last time you dealt with us. Our technical logs are kept for 30 days (a smaller set of anonymous request records, with no names or emails in them, for up to 90 days) and our database backups for 35 days.

News and offers

Because you bought from us, we may send you news and offers about our own wines. UK law allows this "soft opt-in" for a shop's own customers. If you would rather not hear from us, tick the box at checkout. We record your choice, when you made it and the exact wording you saw. Your choice applies to Case & Cork only, and we never pass your details to anyone else for their marketing. Every marketing email will have an unsubscribe link. At the moment we send no marketing emails at all. If we start, we will update this page first.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email support@caseandcork.co.uk from the address you used with us, and we will reply within one month. It is free. If you ask us to delete your details, we delete everything except the order records HMRC needs us to keep. If you are not happy with how we handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, but we would rather you told us first.
