Biddenden Vineyards
Biddenden is Kent's original vineyard, and the Barnes family have owned and run it since 1969. It lies just outside the pretty Wealden village of Biddenden, on gentle south-facing slopes in a sheltered valley.
It all started with a third of an acre of vines in 1969, and the first bottle of Biddenden wine came along in 1972. Today there are 23 acres and 12 grape varieties, for white, rosé, red and sparkling wines, at around 80,000 bottles a year.
The second and third generations run things now, and they make cider and juice as well.
