Bodegas Zugober

Bodegas Zugober is a small family winery in Rioja Alavesa, set up in 1987 by two people: Maribel Bernardo, who makes the wine, and Eduardo Gomez Palma, who looks after the vines.

Their south-facing vineyards are sheltered from the cool winds off the Sierra de Cantabria, which helps the grapes ripen with real character. Tempranillo rules here. Gentle handling and careful time in barrel give classic Rioja with fresh cherry and plum fruit and a cool, mineral edge.
