Boulevard Napoléon

Boulevard Napoléon is the Minervois project of Trevor Gulliver, co-founder of the London restaurant St. John. He bought a house in the village of La Livinière to relax, but his curiosity got the better of him and he started making wine.

A talented local grower, just back from running Michel Chapoutier's business in Australia, helped get things going. The project is named after the street the house and winery are on. That is a fond nod to St. John, which is named after its street in Farringdon.

Trevor has been buying wine direct for St. John since 1996, so he knows what good tastes like. His wines come from old vines in the Minervois, some 60 to 90 years old, with Grenache Gris, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault. Expect bright, ripe fruit and a clear sense of place.
