Broglia

Broglia makes Gavi in Piedmont, from the local Cortese grape. The best Cortese grows near the town of Gavi itself, and wines made closest to the town can carry the name Gavi di Gavi.

The range runs from fresh, lively whites with apple, citrus and a mineral edge to a fuller style from low-yielding vines that are 50 to 70 years old. One wine from the oldest vines spends years on its lees in tank, which keeps it fresh and adds depth. They also make Timorasso, a local white grape saved from dying out in the late 1980s.
