Buena Vista

Buena Vista was founded in 1857 by Agoston Haraszthy, who called himself the 'Count of Buena Vista'. It led the way for quality wine in California.

The Count was a pioneer. He brought in dry-farming and planting on hillsides, and built California's first gravity-fed winery. The estate changed hands several times before the Boisset family from Burgundy bought it in 2011. Under Jean-Charles Boisset the old winery has been done up from top to bottom, and the Count's original vision is back on track.
