Producer Mendoza, Argentina

Buscado Vivo o Muerto

Buscado Vivo o Muerto means 'wanted dead or alive'. It comes from the Mil Suelos group, whose team went high into Argentina's Uco Valley, above Mendoza, hunting for lost vineyards in remarkable spots.

This is home ground for grape grower Alejandro Sejanovich, who has worked with small growers in the far corners of the valley for decades. The wines are made in tiny amounts, each from one plot with its own height, aspect, climate and soil. Those soils range from volcanic rock and sand to limestone clay and pure white chalk.

Think of them like Burgundy: each wine is a detailed snapshot of one place.
