Cantina Menegotti is a family estate near Lake Garda, in north-east Italy, now run by the third generation. It has quietly earned a name for modern takes on the classic local wines.

The spot is lovely and the views are great. The Alps shelter the vines and the lake evens out the temperature. The soil, left behind by ancient glaciers, is rich in mineral salts and is thought to give the wines a mineral touch. The family blends local grapes to make elegant wines with bright aromas and expressive fruit.
