Château Coudray-Montpensier

Château Coudray-Montpensier in Chinon has a history going back to 1090 AD. In 1429 Joan of Arc stayed in its tower while she waited to meet King Charles VII and plan the relief of Orléans.

Dr Christian Feray of Château Moncontour bought the property in 2005 and has restored it with great care. It has 34 hectares of Cabernet Franc on clay, limestone and sand by the Vienne River. The wine is unoaked to keep its fruit bright, full of blackcurrant and redcurrant with fresh acidity.
