Château de Parenchère

Château de Parenchère sits at the far eastern edge of the Bordeaux vineyards, next to the boundary with the Dordogne department. Its foundations were laid in 1570, and Raphaël Gazaniol took it on in 1958.

His son Jean and granddaughter Julia carry on the work today. The vines grow only on hillside plots, so rainwater drains away by itself, and the estate makes Bordeaux Supérieur as well as clairet and dry white. In 2021 the château committed to going organic and gave up synthetic chemicals.
