Château du Coing de St. Fiacre

You will find Château du Coing de St. Fiacre in the little village of Saint-Fiacre, in Muscadet's Sèvre et Maine. It has been in Véronique Günther-Chéreau's family since 1421.

Winery at Saint-Fiacre, Loire.

Véronique grew up here, earned a doctorate in pharmacy, then came home to run the estate in 1990. Her daughter Aurore joined in 2011 after studying biology and winemaking in Dijon. In an area full of négociants, they only use their own grapes, from 40 hectares of Melon de Bourgogne on gneiss where the Sèvre and Maine rivers meet.

The wines are fermented with wild yeasts and rest on their lees over the winter. The result is Muscadet with real texture and plenty of flavour.
