Château Lamothe-Bouscaut
Château Lamothe-Bouscaut is in Cadaujac, in Pessac-Léognan, and its history reaches back to the 12th century. Its neighbour, Château Bouscaut, bought it in 1999. Bouscaut is owned by Sophie Lurton and Laurent Cogombles.
There are nine hectares of vines on deep gravel, about 35 years old on average. They are farmed sustainably and all the vineyard work is done by hand. The red is mainly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and a little Malbec, aged in oak. It is ripe, generous and easy to enjoy young. There is also a white from Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, fresh with well-judged oak.
