Château Peymouton
Château Peymouton is part of the Château Laroque estate in Saint-Émilion, about 3.5 km to the east of the old medieval village. It covers 16 hectares.
The Beaumartin family bought the property in 1935. From the 1960s they set about bringing the vineyard and the cellar up to date.
The soils are partly a thin layer of clay over limestone and partly deep red clay. Merlot leads, with Cabernet Franc and a little Cabernet Sauvignon. Each parcel is picked when it is ripe, and the wine is made gently to keep the fresh fruit.
