Château Saint-Aubin

Château Saint-Aubin is a family-run Cru Bourgeois in the Médoc, in the commune of Jau-Dignac-et-Loirac. It looks out over the Gironde estuary, roughly 70 km north of Bordeaux.

The story goes back to the late 1600s, when the Duc d'Épernon pushed to drain the marshes here. Two lords then settled on what was an island, one of them at Dignac, on the site of today's estate. At the Revolution the land was broken up and sold at auction.

Today just over 22 hectares of vines grow on sandy gravel. All six Médoc grapes are planted, from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Carmenère.
