Château Tour de Capet

Château Tour de Capet lies near Saint-Hippolyte, to the south of Saint-Émilion. Its sister estate, Château Capet-Guillier, sits just above it. Since 2009 it has been run by the Right Bank négociant Antoine Moueix Propriétés.

Christophe Grenier makes the wine, with advice from consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt. The 10 hectares of vines grow on loose sand, loam and clay, which suits a lighter style of Bordeaux. The vineyards follow a zero residue policy, so no herbicides are used. The wine is mostly Merlot with a little Malbec, aged in French oak, with dark berries, a touch of tobacco and spice, and soft tannins.
