Clau de Nell

Clau de Nell is in the village of Ambillou-Château, between Angers and Saumur in the Loire. Anne-Claude Leflaive and her husband Christian Jacques bought it in 2008 to save it from going under.

They first met the owners in 2006 and fell for the site, the old vines and the biodynamic farming already in place. Anne-Claude believed winemakers should work with nature, not fight it. Today Christian runs the domaine with his daughter Charlotte and régisseur Sylvain Potin.
