Clos Venturi

Winemaker Manu Venturi and Jean-Marc, his father, split it off from Domaine Vico after spotting what its old sandstone soils and sheltered spot could do. Manu keeps sheep and chickens in the vines for natural fertiliser and weeding, plus beehives. Yields are kept low, and horses work the land.

They grow Corsica's own grapes, such as Sciaccarellu, Niellucciu, Vermentinu and Biancu Gentile. Whites get skin contact, wild yeasts and time on their lees. Reds are picked by hand and each grape is fermented on its own, giving wines with notes of plum, cherry and herbs.
