Cullen

Cullen is one of the oldest family wineries in Margaret River, Western Australia. Dr Kevin and Diana Cullen started it in 1971, and today it is biodynamic, carbon neutral and runs on natural power.

Their youngest daughter Vanya has worked here since 1983. She took charge of the winemaking in 1989 and of the whole business in 1999. Organic farming came in 1998, and the estate was certified biodynamic in 2004. In 2023 she received the Order of Australia for her work in wine.

The wines come from two estate vineyards in Wilyabrup, which is now named on every label. The vines are dry-farmed and pruned by hand to keep yields low. Expect Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon blends with plenty of depth.
