Diego Morra

Diego Morra grows Barolo in Mosca di Verduno, the third generation of his family to do so. From the mid-20th century on, the Morras have built up 30 hectares of vines across Verduno, La Morra and Roddi, plus 20 hectares of hazelnut trees.

Their prize is four hectares in Monvigliero, one of the most sought-after sites in Barolo. The logo's three Ms are for the family name, their home village and that vineyard: Morra, Mosca and Monvigliero.

The winery is gravity-fed. Wines age in big casks the traditional way, but with a lighter touch than the rustic Nebbiolo of the past, so they are clear and deep. Diego also grows Pelaverga, a bright, fruity local grape found almost only in Verduno.
