Domaine Carrette
Domaine Carrette is a family estate in Vergisson, a pretty village framed by the limestone rocks of Solutré and Vergisson. The family have been growers for several generations.
The modern story began in 1980, when Henri Carrette bought a large house with a vaulted cellar at the foot of the Vergisson rock. Since 2003 his grandson Hervé and Hervé's wife Nathalie, a trained oenologist, have run things. They farm 17 hectares organically, spread over Vergisson and five nearby villages, and they still harvest by hand.
