Domaine de Saint-Romble

Domaine de Saint-Romble sits in the hamlet of Maimbray, in Sury-en-Vaux, right in the middle of Sancerre. Its sloping vineyards are on pure terres blanches, the chalky clay that Sancerre is famous for.

Louis Vattan set the domaine up in the 19th century. His grandson Paul joined in 1954 and slowly grew it to the 12.5 hectares it covers today. Paul was a very fine grower who respected his land and knew it inside out.

His careful way of working lives on with Damien Laurent, the vigneron in charge today.
