Domaine Gilles Lesimple

Gilles Lesimple comes from four generations of Sancerre growers. He trained in the US, then came back in 1997 to run the family estate.

For years he sold his grapes to other producers and the village cooperative. Now he bottles his own. Rather than one estate, it is a collection of good plots the family picked up over time: limestone caillottes in Sancerre itself, flint in Saint Satur, and limestone clay in Sury-en-Vaux and Verdigny. That gives him lots of different flavours to blend.
