Domaine Jubare

Justine Vichard and Barthélemy Gruot bought Domaine La Soufrandise in Pouilly-Fuissé in 2022, as Nicolas and Françoise Melin were retiring, and renamed it Domaine Jubare. The name mixes their first names.

Barthélemy grew up in Beaune. Justine spent ten years working in wineries, vine nurseries and wine distribution. They have split the estate into plots by soil and aspect and farm each one to suit, and it is in conversion to biodynamics. Their view is simple: to make wine that tastes of where it grows, respect nature first.

Four of their six hectares are Pouilly-Fuissé, with vines 50 to 100 years old. Grapes are picked by hand and pressed as whole bunches, and no sulphur goes in until a small dose at bottling.
