Domaine Laroche

Domaine Laroche's home is L'Obédiencerie, a former monastery in Chablis itself. Wine has been made there for more than a thousand years. For all that history, it is a forward-looking place.

Winery at Chablis, Burgundy.

Laroche owns 90 hectares, a lot in a region of small holdings, including premier and grand cru vines. It also works closely with 40 small growers. Winemaker and technical director Romain Chevrolat believes great Chablis starts in the vineyard. There are no artificial pesticides or herbicides, there are beehives in the Vaudevey Valley, and the team helps a bird charity bring owls back to the area.

The wines are fermented with wild yeasts and handled gently, and the top wines still age in the monastery's old cellars. Expect pure, crisp Chablis with lively acidity.
