Domaine Les Alexandrins

Two friends started Domaine Les Alexandrins in 2009: grape grower Alexandre Caso and winemaker Guillaume Sorrel, whose father Marc makes Hermitage. Nicolas Jaboulet joined them in 2015.

Every wine is made from their own 12 hectares, farmed sustainably. In Crozes-Hermitage the vines grow among round pebbles, and in Saint-Joseph on granite slopes. Today Nicolas and Alexandre run the domaine, with Benoît Busseuil making the wine.

The Syrah is fermented in steel with gentle extraction for silky tannins, then aged in older oak so violet and black pepper notes come through. The Crozes-Hermitage is the easier-going of the two, and the Saint-Joseph has more weight.
