Domaine Michel Lafarge

Domaine Michel Lafarge is a Volnay estate that goes back to the early 19th century, when Michel's great-great-grandparents set it up.

Michel's son Frédéric joined him in 1978, and Frédéric and his wife Chantal now run the domaine, with their daughter Clothilde also on board. The vines have been farmed biodynamically since 2000 and the winemaking stays traditional. Their Aligoté comes from Aligoté Doré, an old, low-yielding strain, on vines planted in the late 1930s. The wines can be tight when young, but they are pure and made to age.
