Dominique Morel
Dominique Morel is a family winery just north of Fleurie in Beaujolais, with roots going back to the early 1900s. Dominique has run it since 1967, and his aim is simple: wines he enjoys drinking, with lots of fruit, good colour and a round feel.
There are 18 hectares, three of them in Fleurie, with vines up to 70 years old on poor granite soils. That light stress gives small, concentrated grapes.
The reds are made semi-carbonic in steel, with very little handling. The fresh white Beaujolais is Chardonnay from granite and clay.
