Dr. Fischer
The Fischer family have grown vines in Ockfen, a well-known village on the river Saar, since 1758. Their 12 hectares include part of the Bockstein vineyard, rated Grosse Lage, Germany's version of grand cru.

The wines are classic Saar Riesling: racy and scented with grapefruit, delicate but intense. Things got even better when Martin Foradori Hofstätter, from the Alto Adige estate that bears his name, came in as co-owner in 2014.
