Duffour Père et Fils

The Duffour family have owned this estate in central Gascony since 1955, and it is known as one of the most reliable in the area. Michel Duffour made the wines from 1973 for three decades, then handed over to his son Nicolas in 2004.

The 70 hectares of vines sit on sunny, south-facing clay and limestone slopes that drain well. The vines average about 30 years old.

In this fertile region most growers go for volume, but the Duffours prune hard for low yields and more flavour. Their good-value white blends Colombard, Gros Manseng and Ugni Blanc, with no oak and a bit of extra body from time on its lees.
