Enosophia
Martin Kovačević, a winemaker, and his wife Lucija, a vineyard manager, took over this historic Croatian estate in 2018. They met studying wine at the University of Zagreb, and now farm 160 hectares on the Krndija mountain slopes from a freshly renovated winery.
The estate goes back to 1804, with its first cellar in Feričanci, in Slavonia in eastern Croatia. Monks brought winemaking here in the 13th century, and the region is also famous for Slavonian oak. It used to be called Feravino. In 2025 they renamed it Enosophia, from words for wine and wisdom.
Expect fresh, fruity whites from Graševina, the local name for Welschriesling, and juicy, easy reds from Frankovka, better known as Blaufränkisch.
