Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix
Jean-Pierre Moueix founded this Bordeaux wine business in 1937 in Libourne. He focused on Pomerol and Saint-Émilion, which few people knew much about back then.
In the 1950s he grew the trading side and also, very wisely, began buying châteaux, including Trotanoy, Latour à Pomerol and La Grave, and Bélair, now called Bélair-Monange.
Today Christian Moueix heads the company and his son Édouard looks after distribution. Between them they handle many of the most prized wines of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, wines the family helped bring from obscurity to worldwide fame.
