Sabatino di Properzio makes Montepulciano d'Abruzzo with real style. The grape often turns up as a rough country red, but Sabatino sets out to show what else it can do.

He works with low yields and old vines, and is farming more and more organically. His wines show the grape's many layers of fruit and spice. The top selections come from his fifteen hectares, get longer on the skins and more time in oak, and reward a bit of patience.
