Producer Castilla La Mancha, Spain

Finca Fella

Finca Fella is the Fantini group's first project outside Italy. Its home is Almansa, out in the far east of Castilla La Mancha in Spain.

Winemaker Dennis Verdecchia came for the many old, low-yielding bush vines. They grow between 700 and 1,150 metres on sandy clay with plenty of limestone. Warm days and cold nights let the grapes ripen gently, giving bright, fragrant wines.

Picking at night and cool fermentation keep the whites and rosés fresh, and several wines are certified organic. Almansa is best known for Alicante Bouschet, a grape with red flesh that makes inky, deep reds.
