Finca Museum

Finca Museum is in Cigales, a small region east of Valladolid in Castilla y León. True to its name, the winery doubles as a museum, with art going back to the 17th century.

Cigales was once known for its dry rosados, but these days the thick-skinned local Tempranillo, Tinta del País, is the star. Fierce heat in summer, hard frosts in winter and very poor soils mean small crops of deeply flavoured grapes.

The estate owns nearly 200 hectares, and buys from another 100 hectares of old bush vines under long-term deals. Everything is picked by hand, and in 2023 the winery gained a sustainability certificate.
