Framingham

Framingham in Marlborough has some of the region's oldest Riesling vines, first planted in 1981. Riesling is still the heart of things, but they now make a wider range from their 19.5-hectare estate, certified organic in 2014, and other chosen sites.

Andrew Brown became head winemaker at the start of 2020, taking over from Dr Andrew Hedley, who made the wines for 18 years. Brown worked as his assistant for seven years, then consulted in Oregon, Central Otago and Alsace. Like Hedley, he loves Riesling.

Alongside dry and sweeter Rieslings, look out for a textured Sauvignon Blanc, an Alsace-style Pinot Gris and an elegant Pinot Noir from the Wairau Valley.
