Fraser Gallop Estate
Nigel Gallop set up Fraser Gallop Estate in 1999 with the late Heather Fraser. It is in Wilyabrup, part of Margaret River, about 6 kilometres from the coast of Western Australia.
The vines were planted with no irrigation, so they have had to send their roots deep to find water. That gives smaller grapes with more intense flavour and a slatey, mineral edge.
Head winemaker Ellin Tritt likes to let the fruit do the talking. She aims for balanced, refined wines that are good to drink young but can also age well.
