Guado al Tasso

Guado al Tasso sits in the Maremma, on the Tuscan coast about sixty miles southwest of Florence. The Antinori estate runs from the green hills around the old village of Bolgheri right down to the sea.

The hills wrap round the coastal plain like a natural amphitheatre. Bolgheri itself began as a rosé-only area, with white wine allowed from 1984 and its famous Cabernet-based reds finally given official status a decade later.

Cabernet Franc has played a bigger part here since 2007, both in the main blend and on its own.
