Henri Bourgeois

The Bourgeois family story starts in 1950, when Henri Bourgeois started out with a mere two hectares on the slopes of Chavignol, a village close to Sancerre. His sons came into the business in the 1960s with big plans.

Since then the family has explored new ground, worked with other local growing families, and added red and rosé Sancerre plus Pouilly-Fumé to their whites.

In 2000 they went much further afield, setting up Clos Henri, an organic property in New Zealand's Marlborough. Back home they also run a hotel and restaurant among the Chavignol vines.
