Henschke

The Henschke family have made wine in the Eden Valley since 1868. Stephen Henschke, the fifth generation, took over in 1979, and with his wife Prue, a viticulturist, he has turned a traditional family firm into one loved all over the world.

They own four vineyards, one in the Adelaide Hills and three in the Eden Valley, all farmed on biodynamic lines. For around 50 years Prue has worked vine by vine to bring the soils back to health, and she has replanted native plants to help wildlife.

Their hard work has been noticed. In 2024 Prue became the very first name in the James Halliday Hall of Fame. In 2025 Stephen received the IMW's Winemaker's Winemaker Award.
