Jermann
The Jermann family's story starts in the 1700s, when they moved from Burgenland in Austria to Slovenia. In 1881 Anton Jermann made the last short hop to Farra d'Isonzo in Friuli, where the family winery still stands.
They brought plenty of winemaking know-how with them, but it was Anton's great-grandson Silvio who put the name on the map, for Friuli and for all of Italy. His blends of local and international grapes started a small revolution in the region.
Today Jermann own 170 hectares across two estates, in Collio and Isonzo. They were early to take up sustainable farming and are still keen to keep pushing ahead.
