Kintonis

George Kintonis started this winery in 1952, near Aigio in Aigialeia, in the northern Peloponnese. Today the family's third generation runs it: Panagiota and George J. Kintonis.

The vineyards here are dramatic, climbing Mount Panachaikon, Mount Klokos and Mount Helmos and looking out over the Gulf of Corinth. Summer breezes off the water keep them cool, and the mountains block the hot, sticky winds from the south. The winery works with chosen growers right across the area, on some 1,100 hectares in all.
