Kooyong
Kooyong, on the Mornington Peninsula, was set up in the late 1990s. Its modern story really began in 2004, when the Gjergja family bought it. Success followed, and in 2012 James Halliday named it his Winery of the Year.
Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the cool Peninsula are the focus here. Burgundy is an influence, but the wines are true to their own region, with freshness, elegance and balance first.
The approach is hands-off in the vines and in the cellar, which gives wines with real character and purity.
