L'Expressió del Priorat comes from the Mas La Mola team. It gives you the structure of classic Priorat, but it is ready to drink while young.
Most of the grapes come from Mas La Mola's younger vines, plus two more vineyards the estate looks after. They are farmed organically on Priorat's famous llicorella slate, and average about 20 years old.
Jordi Masdeu, the winemaker, wants to keep the wine fresh, so the Garnacha and Cariñena spend eight months in steel, not oak. The result is powerful but elegant, with blueberry fruit and that flinty Priorat edge, and it is great value.
