Producer Central Valley, Chile

La Roncière

The Orueta family founded La Roncière in 1949. In 2011 the current generation, brothers José Antonio, Andrés and Alejandro, came up with a bold new plan with climate change in mind.

They built a whole new estate from scrubland in Licantén, a remote, cool coastal corner of Chile's Curicó Valley. Its climate and old metamorphic soils are so distinctive that Licantén is now an official DO, one of just four new ones in Chile.

The 200 hectares of vines give fresh, well-structured red wines from classic French grapes.
