Les Vignes de L'Eglise

Matt Thomson of Blank Canvas and winemaker Marguerite Vasseur make the Vignes de L'Eglise wines. They work at the Pomérols co-op, in the Picpoul de Pinet part of the Languedoc.

Breezes off the Mediterranean keep Pomérols cooler than most of the Languedoc. Add plenty of sun and warmth, and the grapes ripen with a good balance of fruit, freshness and aroma.

Each parcel is picked out on its own for flavour and ripeness. The red clay around the village gives the reds extra richness. These are pure, elegant wines, and very good value.
