Maison Auvigue
The Auvigue family have grown vines in the Mâconnais since early in the 1600s. The business as it is today, Maison Auvigue, started in 1946, and the family has its own vines in Fuissé and Solutré.
They also buy grapes from a handful of good local growers. Recently they moved into a new home: the old, deconsecrated church on the village square in Fuissé, which the family carefully restored. It came with a vineyard, which they are now bringing back into shape.
Céline Hirsch makes the wine, with Jean-Pierre Auvigue as her mentor. Her wines taste of where they come from, fresh and pure, with a mineral edge.
