Maison Azan

Maison Azan, also called Domaine de Petit Roubié, sits right in the middle of the Picpoul de Pinet appellation. It is run by husband and wife Olivier and Floriane Azan.

Olivier is a big believer in organic farming. Back in 1985 his was the first domaine in Pinet to be certified organic. Their 80 hectares lie around the Bassin de Thau, France's second biggest lagoon, right by the Mediterranean.

Mists and breezes off the lagoon keep the vines cool in summer, and many think they give the wines a salty touch.
