Marqués de Burgos

Marqués de Burgos is based in Quintana del Pidio, a village in Ribera del Duero. It was set up by Bodegas Lan, already Tempranillo experts in Rioja, after a careful hunt for good sites that began in 2009.

Old bush vines here give very small crops, about three tonnes a hectare, of deeply flavoured grapes. The first wine came out in 2013. Today María Barúa makes the wines, all from Tempranillo, pairing bright berry fruit with a gentle touch of spice from oak.
