Mount Horrocks
Mount Horrocks is a small Clare Valley winery owned by winemaker Stephanie Toole. She bought it in 1993, having spent years selling fine wine in Perth.
Winery at Auburn, South Australia.
She turned the old Auburn railway station into her cellar door, and bought land in Watervale to plant vineyards. Each site is planted with the grapes that suit its soil and climate, including Riesling, Semillon, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Nero d'Avola, which she fell for on a trip to Sicily.
The estate is certified organic and biodynamic. Everything is picked by hand and handled gently, so there is no need for fining and all the wines are vegan. She makes no more than 2,500 cases a year, and her wines are made with food in mind.
