Nocturne

Nocturne is the solo label of Julian Langworthy, one of the brightest winemakers in Australia. He was born and raised in Margaret River and made his name at well-known Western Australian wineries, and Halliday named him Best Winemaker in 2019.

What began as a side project in 2010 is now one of Australia's most exciting names. He makes small amounts of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon from top sites across Margaret River, in Treeton, Wallcliffe, Wilyabrup and Yallingup.

He calls his style 'careful neglection': wild yeasts, no fining and as little fuss as possible. His own four-hectare vineyard in Yallingup, the warmest part of Margaret River, gives his Cabernet. The wines sell out soon after release each year.
